COMME DES GARCONS

Iconic fashion house Comme des Garçons, in Japanese コム・デ・ギャルソン and meaning “Like Boys” was founded in Japan in 1973 by Rei Kawakubo. Notoriously known for avant-garde, deconstructed and conceptual designs, Comme des Garçons' Rei Kawakubo has changed the way we look at contemporary fashion. Reinventing fashion more than once in her collections, it’s trusted that the designer will continue to push the boundaries of design with innovative concepts that bode well with entertainment icons such as Lady Gaga whilst also appealing to the fashion elite. The leading lady in avant-garde contemporary designs, Kawakubo’s dresses challenge the ordinary whilst tops, pants and skirts by the designer take form in oversized shapes and sizes, adding artistic elements to everyday clothing. Kawakubo and her husband Adrian Joffe, together own the brand, which encompasses apparel, accessories, perfumes and stores all over the world, including the iconic Dover Street Market.
